Gemayel emphasizes the close relationship between him and Dar Al-Fatwa in Bekaa

His Eminence the Mufti of Zahle and the Bekaa, Dr. Sheikh Ali Al-Ghazawi, received His Excellency the Former President Amin Gemayel and the accompanying delegation at Azhar Al-Bekaa on September 5, 2023, in the presence of MP Bilal Al-Hashimi, Minister Eli Marouni, dignitaries, judges, scholars, and a gathering of political, social, municipal, and optional figures.
The Mufti of Zahle and the Bekaa welcomed President Amin Gemayel and the accompanying delegation, expressing his loyalty to the esteemed Mufti Sheikh Khalil Al-Mays, the founder of the institutions, may Allah have mercy on him, and stating that he follows in his footsteps and continues his path. He said, "We receive you today, and Lebanon may not be as it was in the past. Lebanon is suffering and needs remedy from its sons."
He added, "The hardest thing Lebanon is going through today is the administrative vacuum practiced internally and externally."
He criticized attempts to introduce gender ideology that does not belong to our societies and beliefs, addressing His Excellency the President, saying, "We must reclaim our nation's dignity because those without a homeland have no dignity. Our dignity is when our homeland is an institution that embraces its children and seeks their interests."
In turn, President Gemayel praised the role of Mufti Al-Ghazawi since his appointment as the Mufti of the Bekaa, saying, "We are proud of what this institution has been doing since the days of Mufti Khalil Al-Mays, may Allah have mercy on him, and now under the tenure of His Eminence Mufti Al-Ghazawi, may Allah protect him, we pledge allegiance to him and stand with him to preserve this heritage in this region in particular."
