His Eminence the Mufti of Zahle and the Bekaa, Dr. Sheikh Ali Al-Ghazawi, received Prime Minister Najib Mikati at Azhar Al-Bekaa in Majdal Anjar on November 22, 2023, in the presence of the Mufti of Baalbek-Hermel, Sheikh Bakr Al-Rifai, His Excellency the Minister of Industry, George Boushikian, His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Abbas Halabi, His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassin, MP Bilal Al-Hashimi, MP Yanal Salih, MP Wael Abou Faour, MP Yassin Yassin, the Governor of Western Bekaa, Professor Wissam Nasbih, former MP Mohammed Al-Qarawi, some Sharia and civil judges, and a number of scholars from the Bekaa and members of the Sharia Council, the Administrative Council of Endowments, and the Zakat Fund from the Bekaa and Baalbek, as well as mayors and optional associations and activities in the Bekaa.

His Eminence welcomed President Mikati, pointing to his steadfastness and stance on the Palestinian issue, adding: "We appreciate your steadfastness with those who stand with you to keep our nation the land of independence, not a land of necessity. No government meeting only in times of necessity, no legislation only in times of necessity, but we want through you, Mr. President, for our nation to live through us and for us to live through the institution of the nation."

In turn, President Mikati expressed his gratitude to Mufti Al-Ghazawi, referring to the Dar Al-Fatwa in the Bekaa and Azhar Al-Bekaa, recalling the late Mufti Sheikh Khalil Al-Mays, and this institution that receives scholars to share concerns and anxieties, emphasizing that the Palestinian cause is at the heart, and he said: "We must prepare ourselves and be present for a conference supporting the issue, and we will be the best support for the cause."

He promised to restructure the banks and return deposits to their owners, confirming that things will not be right until there is good implementation of the constitution and completion of the Taif Agreement, and he said: "The economic and financial affairs of the state have begun to improve somewhat, and we have begun to rebuild the necessary reserves in the state's current accounts."
