The Mufti of Zahle and Bekaa meets with the President of the Senate in Brazil

The Honorable Mufti of Zahle and Bekaa, Dr. Sheikh Ali Al-Ghazawi, concluded his Brazilian meetings with a visit to Brasília, the capital of Brazil. He met with the President of the Brazilian Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, along with the esteemed Ambassador Carla Jazzar.
The accompanying delegation included the Head of the Expatriates Department, Sheikh Abdul Nasser Al-Khatib, Sheikh Asim Al-Jarrah, Secretary of the Bekaa Fatwa Office, the Financial Director of the Bekaa Fatwa Institutions, Mr. Kamal Al-Din Al-Afesh, Vice President of the Islamic Charitable Society in São Paulo, Youssef Abbas, the Representative of the Fatwa Office in Brazil, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, businessman and President of the Union of Islamic Institutions in Brazil, Mr. Mohammad Al-Zoghbi, and the Coordinator of the Future Movement in Central Bekaa, Hajj Saeed Yassin.
The parties discussed the relationships that link Lebanon and Brazil, where descendants of Lebanese origin in Brazil constitute more than five percent of the population. They have achieved significant economic successes and contributed to the Brazilian economy.
Mufti Al-Ghazawi expressed his gratitude to Brazil's leadership, government, and people for their constant support and hospitality towards the Lebanese community and their unwavering support for Lebanon in all fields.
At the end of the meeting, Mufti Al-Ghazawi wrote a note in the honor book, emphasizing the strong friendship between Brazil and Lebanon.
