His Eminence Mufti of Zahle and Bekaa, Dr. Sheikh Ali Gazzawi, emphasized during the Friday sermon he delivered in the village of Al-Sultan Yacoub Al-Tahta on the necessity of seizing these blessed days with good deeds, obedience, and drawing closer to Almighty God. He said: "These virtuous nights and these days of the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah are seeking us, so where are we in the fields of goodness, worship, judgment, and arbitration, and in the field of giving charity and maintaining family ties." He added: "Take your families to God in days when God has opened the doors of pardon and forgiveness, so stand up in its nights, fast its days, and give charity from what is left of your money." He pointed to the resistance and jihad of the people of the dear Gaza in the land of ribat by saying: "Be with them in their jihad, and if any of you cannot fight with his own self, let him fight with his money, and whoever cannot perform the pilgrimage to the House of God, let him be a pilgrim, i.e., seeking the face of God in all his affairs." Regarding the recent events that happened in Lebanon, he said: "We are a nation that seeks life, seeks security, and seeks to make its security general in the whole earth." He concluded: "I ask God to grant us in our country and in all other countries security, safety, peace, and Islam."
