Statement from Mecca issued by the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic and the Muftis of the regions

A statement was issued by the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, and the Muftis of the Lebanese regions during their stay in Mecca. The statement condemned the brutal Zionist aggression on the south and other Lebanese regions. According to the statement distributed by the media office at Dar al-Fatwa: The sinful attack that Lebanon is facing, the latest of which was in the Beirut suburb by the Zionist enemy, is considered a terrorist, barbaric, and condemned act. The enemy’s actions represent an escalation in aggression to widen the war against Lebanon, which necessitates further national unity, solidarity, and cooperation to prevent Lebanon from entering into an extended war. They called upon the Lebanese Army on its anniversary to be fully prepared, along with all security and military agencies, to defend Lebanon and its people and to deter any aggression against it.
They urged the Arab League, the international community, and all the free people of the world to deter the Zionist enemy, which is practicing described terrorism and the most heinous crimes against our people in Gaza, Palestine, and in the villages and towns of the south and other Lebanese regions, as well as in other Arab and Muslim countries. These crimes include killing, destruction, and repeated attacks without any moral or humanitarian deterrent, disregarding all international resolutions.
The statement emphasized that the Zionist attack on any Lebanese area is an attack on all areas without distinction or differentiation. They prayed to Allah for mercy on the martyrs and a swift recovery for the wounded.
The Muftis expressed their disapproval of the heinous crime that led to the martyrdom of President Ismail Haniyeh, considering it part of a series of terrorist crimes committed by the Zionist entity on Palestinian land and in the Arab and Islamic world. They believe this crime will hinder all efforts to halt the war in Gaza and prayed that the blood of the martyrs will purify and bring freedom to the beloved land of Palestine.
Additionally, the media office reported that the Grand Mufti and the Muftis of the Lebanese regions performed Umrah during their visit to Mecca and visited several religious and historical sites, including the Revelation Exhibition and the Kaaba covering, among others.
