The Ghazzawi Mufti received the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Abyad

The Mufti of Zahle and Bekaa, Dr. Sheikh Ali Ghazzawi, received His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, at the Azhar Al-Bekaa on November 30, 2023, in the presence of a distinguished gathering including Dr. Bilal Al-Hashimi, former Minister Jamal Jarrah, former Deputy Mohammed Al-Qarawi, Sheikh Mohamed Abdel Rahman, head of the Bekaa Endowments Department, Sharia and civil judges, some hospital owners, members of the Sharia and Administrative Council of Endowments, mayors, and doctors.
His Eminence welcomed the Minister, thanking him for his cooperation and support for the health sector and for licensing a new medical center for the Azhar Al-Bekaa Association to alleviate the burdens borne by the Lebanese citizens in the Bekaa.
He said, 'The institutions under your auspices today, whether governmental hospitals, clinics, or charitable institutions, all need support to be able to give.' He emphasized that they are following in the footsteps of the late Mufti Sheikh Khalil Al-Mayss, may God have mercy on him.
Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, in turn, expressed his gratitude to Mufti Ghazzawi, recalling the late Mufti Sheikh Khalil Al-Mayss, may God have mercy on him, and pointing out the difficulty of accessing medicine and healthcare in the current difficult economic situation.
He promised to work on opening and operating some central hospitals and clinics affected by certain decisions and interventions that have prevented them from serving the regions and their inhabitants, especially the Bar Elias Hospital and Clinic and Joub Jannine.
He affirmed, "From the coming year, by God's permission, there will be a change in the tariff spent by the Ministry of Health, covering about 50% increase from the old price, which is in line with the increase in employees' salaries."
